Triple-negative breast cancer is a form of breast cancer. The cancer cells have virtually no binding sites for the hormones estrogen and progesterone, and produce little or no HER2 protein on their surface. This can influence whether or how well certain drugs work and therefore plays a crucial role in treatment planning.
