Leukapheresis

Leukapheresis is a procedure in which white blood cells (leukocytes) can be selectively filtered out of the blood. The blood is passed through a specialised machine that filters out the desired cells and returns the remaining blood components to the body. This process allows the number of white blood cells to be reduced or immune cells to be harvested for specific therapies.
