Intensity-modulated proton therapy, IMPT

Intensity-modulated proton therapy (IMPT) is a form of radiotherapy in which a deep-seated tumor is irradiated from outside the body through the skin using protons. IMPT enables precise distribution of the radiation dose, even in the case of an irregularly shaped tumor. The protons release their energy precisely within the tumor tissue, so that the healthy tissue surrounding it is protected.
