CAR-T cell therapy is a personalised immunotherapy used for certain types of cancer. The patient’s own immune cells are taken from their body and genetically modified so that they can specifically recognise and kill tumour cells. The therapy can be associated with severe side effects and is therefore more commonly used in advanced stages of cancer.
