Bio
Dr. Richard Baird is a medical oncologist at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Cancer Centre, where he serves as a Clinical Principal Research Associate and Academic Consultant specializing in breast cancer therapeutics. His research focuses on early-phase precision medicine trials, integrating novel biomarker endpoints such as circulating tumor DNA and advanced imaging to guide treatment selection and response assessment. He has established an extensive program of phase 1–2 clinical trials, many of which are investigator-initiated, providing access to innovative therapies for patients locally and internationally. Dr. Baird’s work has significantly advanced personalized treatment strategies in breast cancer and strengthened the translation of early-phase clinical research into patient benefit.
