Bio

Professor Galina Velikova is an academic Medical Oncologist at the University of Leeds and Leeds Teaching Hospitals, UK, with over 20 years’ experience in patient-centered research using electronic Patient-Reported Outcome Measures in routine care and clinical trials. She led a 5-year NIHR Program Grant developing an online symptom and toxicity reporting system (QTool), uniquely integrated into electronic records and redesigned care pathways to support remote monitoring during cancer treatment and improve patient safety. Her research also evaluates remote follow-up after treatment. Professor Velikova has led national and international collaborations, including quality-of-life sub-studies in major breast cancer trials, and holds senior leadership roles in NHS England and international quality-of-life organizations. She is a practicing oncologist (Consultant in Medical Oncology) with clinical work focused on systemic treatment of breast cancer patients with early and advanced disease.
