Dr. Birgit Geoerger is a pediatric oncologist and Head of the Pediatric Early Drug Development Program and the Inserm U1360 Research Team "Biology for Therapeutics in Resistant Pediatric Cancers” at Gustave Roussy, France. She is internationally recognized for her expertise in early-phase clinical trials and innovative drug development in childhood cancers. She gained her medical training in pediatrics and oncology at the Universities of Mainz, Aachen, Essen, and Cologne in Germany, completed postdoctoral training in Philadelphia, USA, earned her Ph.D. in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and the Habilitation a Diriger la Recherche at the Université Paris-Saclay in France. She pioneered the major national and international precision medicine initiatives advancing molecularly guided therapies for pediatric cancers.
