An International Perspective on NCT Trials and Strategy
Meeting of the Trial Selection Board (TSB) and the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) in Würzburg
Advancing cancer research requires continuous development and independent perspectives. Two international expert panels support the NCT in this process: the Trial Selection Board (TSB) evaluates new clinical trial concepts, while the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) advises on the scientific and strategic development of the NCT. In Würzburg, the two boards met back-to-back for the first time.
The TSB meeting marked the start. Chaired by Jonathan Fletcher of Harvard Medical School, the international board held its first in-person meeting and reviewed ten trial synopses . The evaluation focused on unmet medical need, scientific quality, and the innovative potential of the proposed trials. In this way, the TSB helps identify promising trial concepts and further develop the NCT portfolio of investigator-initiated clinical trials.
