NCT SouthWest: Tübingen-Stuttgart/Ulm

The oncology centers of excellence Tübingen-Stuttgart (CCC-TS) and Ulm (CCCU) form the joint site NCT SüdWest. The NCT SüdWest is an internationally leading site with a clinical research focus on molecular therapies and academic drug development, innovative immunotherapies as well as molecular and multiparametric imaging. The SouthWest site stands for the rapid transfer of new research results and academically developed therapeutics and diagnostics into early clinical trials. This ensures that innovations in cancer research benefit patients as quickly as possible.

Main research areas

The research expertise of the NCT SouthWest is based on three pillars in particular: Personalized immunotherapies include the areas of individualized cancer peptide vaccines, innovative antibody therapies and cellular immunotherapies. The second pillar consists of the development of targeted molecular therapies to overcome therapy resistance. Here, the site primarily contributes its expertise to the NCT through the Tübingen Center for Academic Drug Discovery. NCT SüdWest's research expertise is complemented by imaging-based tumor diagnostics. The use of state-of-the-art multimodal imaging techniques at the sites in Tübingen, Stuttgart and Ulm, such as PET/MR scanners or whole-body PET/CT scanners, paired with the latest generation of tracers developed in-house, enables a new form of planning and control of personalized forms of therapy.
